Bachelor’s Health Sciences

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program offers a comprehensive and in-depth education tailored to meet the demands of a successful career in the health science field. Bachelor’s Public Health

Students will gain practical skills and learn to use tools and technologies that will prepare them to solve real-world problems in public health, including analyzing healthcare data, implementing quality improvement initiatives, managing healthcare projects, and ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, the program aims to produce graduates who are critical thinkers, problem solvers, and effective leaders in the healthcare industry.

Master’s Public Health

The online Master of Public Health (MPH) program is designed to provide students with a foundation in the major elements of public health, including health services administration; project and program design; epidemiology; biostatistics; environmental health; social and behavioral theory and application; and healthcare policy and law. The curriculum is built to align with competencies defined by the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and the core functions outlined by the World Health Organization (WHO). Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in a wide range of public health industries, from local organizations to national research institutes. This 42-credit program may also serve as a stepping-stone to various doctoral programs.

  • WHEN AND WHERE DOES THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY TAKE PLACE?
    The 2025 commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 6:00pm in the Felix Event Center on APU’s campus.
  • WHEN DO I NEED TO ARRIVE TO CHECK IN ON COMMENCEMENT DAY?
    Check in begins 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony.
  • WILL MY FAMILY AND GUESTS NEED A TICKET TO ATTEND THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY?
    Each graduate will be allotted a certain number of tickets for friends and family. You will be notified of the ticket limit and how to reserve tickets towards the end of November. Stay tuned.
  • CAN I PURCHASE ADDITIONAL TICKETS?
    No, additional tickets may become available as students return any unused tickets and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Notification of the lottery start time will be contained in the initial email sent regarding tickets to students participating in commencement. Students will be able to claim any additional tickets by accessing the same link they claimed their initial tickets at the start of the lottery. Availability is not guaranteed and may be limited to 2 to 3 tickets.
  • WHEN WILL THE VENUE DOORS OPEN FOR FAMILY AND GUESTS AT COMMENCEMENT?
    Doors open at 5:00 pm (4:45 p.m. for special assistance needs).
  • HOW LONG DOES THE CEREMONY USUALLY LAST?
    Most commencement ceremonies are approximately two hours, depending on the number of graduates.
  • I HAVE A GUEST WITH DISABILITY-RELATED NEEDS. ARE ACCOMMODATIONS PROVIDED?
    On the day of the event, please visit the ADA check-in station for assistance with any disability-related requests. Accessible seating will be available for wheelchair users and other mobility-related seating needs 15 minutes prior to doors opening. Sign language interpretation will be provided upon request only; requests must be made no later than two weeks prior to the date of the event. If you have a question or request regarding a guest who may need other accommodations, please email accessibility@lapu.edu
  • CAN I BRING MY DOG OR OTHER PET TO THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY?
    No animals are allowed at the ceremony with the exception of ADA-approved service animals.
  • HOW CAN I ORDER PERSONALIZED GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS?

  • WILL THERE BE A RECEPTION FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS?
    There will be a meet and greet starting at 5:00 pm near the check-in area.
  • CAN I WATCH THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY ONLINE?
    A link to the livestream will be available on December 14th, beginning at 5:30pm at lapu.edu/live
  • CAN I PURCHASE OR PRE-ORDER FLOWERS FOR MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE FOR COMMENCEMENT?

  • WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY DIPLOMA IN THE MAIL?
    Diploma cases, including a certificate, will be awarded at the commencement ceremony. The actual diplomas are mailed 8 weeks after degrees are posted. All owing balances to the university must be resolved to receive your diploma.
  • WHEN WILL MY DEGREE POST?
    Degrees should post within three weeks after final grades and/or transcripts have been received.
  • HOW CAN I ORDER MY TRANSCRIPTS?
    Complete the online transcript request form to receive an official transcript. Please note: Be sure to review the transcript fees and policies to allow enough time to order transcripts to meet your needs.
  • ARE JOBS OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE AT LAPU?

  • HOW CAN I ORDER MY CAP AND GOWN?
    Caps and gowns are available to order on the Herff Jones website: https://collegegrad.herffjones.com/site/descriptors until November 10, 2024.
