The 2025 commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 6:00pm in the Felix Event Center on APU’s campus. WHEN DO I NEED TO ARRIVE TO CHECK IN ON COMMENCEMENT DAY? Check in begins 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony. WILL MY FAMILY AND GUESTS NEED A TICKET TO ATTEND THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY? Each graduate will be allotted a certain number of tickets for friends and family. You will be notified of the ticket limit and how to reserve tickets towards the end of November. Stay tuned. CAN I PURCHASE ADDITIONAL TICKETS? No, additional tickets may become available as students return any unused tickets and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Notification of the lottery start time will be contained in the initial email sent regarding tickets to students participating in commencement. Students will be able to claim any additional tickets by accessing the same link they claimed their initial tickets at the start of the lottery. Availability is not guaranteed and may be limited to 2 to 3 tickets. WHEN WILL THE VENUE DOORS OPEN FOR FAMILY AND GUESTS AT COMMENCEMENT? Doors open at 5:00 pm (4:45 p.m. for special assistance needs). HOW LONG DOES THE CEREMONY USUALLY LAST? Most commencement ceremonies are approximately two hours, depending on the number of graduates. I HAVE A GUEST WITH DISABILITY-RELATED NEEDS. ARE ACCOMMODATIONS PROVIDED? On the day of the event, please visit the ADA check-in station for assistance with any disability-related requests. Accessible seating will be available for wheelchair users and other mobility-related seating needs 15 minutes prior to doors opening. Sign language interpretation will be provided upon request only; requests must be made no later than two weeks prior to the date of the event. See the catalog for more details. Applied Pastoral Counseling Integrate biblical principles with counseling and interviewing skills to be applied in a pastoral care or lay ministry setting. The Applied Pastoral Counseling concentration enables students to develop critical skills that can be applied to a pastoral care setting. Students engage in fundamental theories, concepts, and principles providing a basis for psychology. In addition, students learn how to integrate biblical principles with counseling and interviewing skills, as well as theoretical concepts. Students may choose to pursue a master’s degree in counseling or psychology to obtain counseling licensure but desire a more Christian emphasis or a Master in Divinity (M.Div.) for those interested in chaplaincy.
