Why did you decide to enroll at LAPU?
I did not remember exactly how I heard about LAPU, but the moment I came across their information, I knew this was what I had been looking for - a fully online program with faith-based education. I signed up for an information session and had numerous email conversations with the admissions team to determine how to transfer units from my previous college in another country. I am forever grateful to all the staff for their patience and guidance in that process. I would not have been able to push through without their help, given the daunting and tedious nature of the process.
What program did you complete, and what stood out to you during your studies?
I have always been interested in the field of mental health. After discussing with the admission team, it was clear that I should pursue my B.A. in Applied Psychology with LAPU. I am glad they helped me identify the path. As I reflect on my undergraduate journey, I appreciate how LAPU’s courses provided a good balance between theoretical and practical knowledge, with biblical perspectives that fostered an open platform for different believers to exchange ideas and engage in discussions. As a first-generation immigrant, LAPU played a significant role in broadening my worldview as I pursued my degree.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about enrolling at LAPU?
Don’t wait! Just do it! - is what I would say to someone who is thinking about enrolling at LAPU. I wish I had started earlier without hesitation. You may have a lot of inner voices doubting yourself, reasons that are holding you back. Sign up for information sessions, talk to the advisor, seek their professional advice, and you might learn that there are ways that LAPU’s staff can assist or support you. Take the leap of faith to learn more about the program, and you will appreciate yourself for investing in yourself years later, like I do.
