LAPU is pleased to announce that the Department of Education has awarded LAPU a Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (DHSI) Program grant, with a program start date of October 1, 2024. The grant provides $2.6 million of funding over the next five years to help close achievement gaps for underserved students at LAPU. This will be accomplished by expanding career counseling services for all students, revising first-year core general education courses to make them more career-relevant, and developing a peer mentoring program, a faculty and staff-student mentoring program, and faculty and staff professional development, focused on the needs of underserved students.
